Escaped COVID-19 patient from Ragama Hospital found Movements to be traced

The 62-year-old male COVID-19 patient, who escaped from the Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama last morning, was found near the hospital by last afternoon, Hospital Director Dr. Shelton Perera said.

Therefore,his movements need to be traced,”dr.perera said. Subsequent­ly, he was transferre­d to Idh.meanwhile, police said a team attached to the Peliyagoda Police Station yesterday launched an operation in search of the patient as he was a resident of Peliyagoda.they also sought public support to locate the patient.

Police also said the patient,a drug addict,believed to have slipped away in search of drugs.
