Ask the people

- NIMAL RANASINGHE KOHUWALA

We have noted over the years people have accepted the call for administratively dividing the country on the basis of ethnicity, language and religion. This is to supposedly transfer power to grassroots level.

India has been foremost in this call for division, having failed in initial attempts to forcibly get it done by arming and training LTTE cadres and failing on the diplomatic front as well.

I am sure if the people of the country were asked in a referendum whether the country should be so divided, at least 90% would vehemently oppose it. So should we not ask the people, to give India and the rest of the world an apt answer?
