85 POLICE OFFICERS AT MINUWANGODA POLICE QUARANTINED

Family members of the Minuwangoda Police officers will also be subjected to PCR tests

• Canteen owner tests positive for Covid-19

At least 85 police officers including the OIC of the Minuwangoda Police Station were quarantined after the owner of the police canteen has been tested positive for COVID19, the Police said.

They said that operations at the police station was temporarily halted until relief officers were brought in and also a disinfection process was underway. The police officers at the Minuwangoda Police were placed under quarantine after being subjected to PCR tests.

The son of 55-year-old canteen owner, who is an employee of the Minuwangoda Brandix company had also contracted the virus.

Police said they have identified all the contacts of the virus-infected canteen owner.

They said family members of the Minuwangoda Police officers will also be subjected to PCR tests.
