Trump says he will not par­tic­i­pate in vir­tual de­bate

2020 - US Pres­i­dent Don­ald Trump says he will not par­tic­i­pate in a vir­tual de­bate with Demo­cratic nom­i­nee Joe Bi­den, af­ter the com­mis­sion that hosts the events said it was mov­ing to an on­line for­mat be­cause the pres­i­dent con­tracted coro­n­avirus.

“I am not go­ing to waste my time on a vir­tual de­bate,” Trump said on the Fox Business Net­work.“i don’t think I’m con­ta­gious at all,” Trump said, just a week af­ter an­nounc­ing he had tested pos­i­tive, de­spite health agen­cies guide­lines say­ing peo­ple in his sit­u­a­tion should re­main in iso­la­tion.

“I’d love to do a rally tonight. I wanted to do one last night,” Trump said.

The com­mis­sion said it would host the sec­ond de­bate and the “can­di­dates would par­tic­i­pate from sep­a­rate re­mote lo­ca­tions” in or­der to en­sure health and safety of “all in­volved.”
