South­ern War­riors cruise to third win

South­ern War­riors cruised to their third win with an easy six-wicket tri­umph over East­ern War­riors in their Army Com­man­der’s T20 League Cricket Tour­na­ment en­counter played at the Army Grounds in Dom­bagoda yes­ter­day.

East­ern War­riors tak­ing first lease of the wicket were bowled out for 112 and South­ern War­riors in re­ply, reached their tar­get in the 18th over.

In an­other match played at the same venue, North­ern War­riors pulled off a close 13-run win against the Western War­riors.

The match win­ners for East­ern War­riors were Ashan Randika, who made a 30-ball 57 that in­cluded seven bound­aries and three sixes and Skip­per Seekkuge Prasanna, who chipped in with 35 to help their side make a for­mi­da­ble 188.

Western War­riors in their run chase reached 96 for four at the half­way mark of the in­nings but were bowled out for 175 de­spite a top knock of 52 from Samitha Dil­shan.
