Southern Warriors cruise to third win

Southern Warriors cruised to their third win with an easy six-wicket triumph over Eastern Warriors in their Army Commander’s T20 League Cricket Tournament encounter played at the Army Grounds in Dombagoda yesterday.

Eastern Warriors taking first lease of the wicket were bowled out for 112 and Southern Warriors in reply, reached their target in the 18th over.

In another match played at the same venue, Northern Warriors pulled off a close 13-run win against the Western Warriors.

The match winners for Eastern Warriors were Ashan Randika, who made a 30-ball 57 that included seven boundaries and three sixes and Skipper Seekkuge Prasanna, who chipped in with 35 to help their side make a formidable 188.

Western Warriors in their run chase reached 96 for four at the halfway mark of the innings but were bowled out for 175 despite a top knock of 52 from Samitha Dilshan.
