The Assistant Secretary-general had ordered not to allow anyone inside the office

-

Speaker revealed this when SLPP MP Shan Wijelal complained that he was not allowed to enter the office last morning.

“It was decided not to allow outsiders to the office which provides services to the MPS at Pelawatte as a family member of one employee in this office was found to be COVID-19 positive,” the Speaker said.

Mr. Wijelal said he was not allowed into this office situated in front of the Ministry of Education in Pelawatte.“i had to wait for some time to obtain the service I required as I was told that the Assistant Secretary-general had ordered not to allow anyone inside the office. Maybe they did not recognise me as I was wearing a face mask,” the MP said.

Meanwhile, a press statement from the Parliament media office said that the office which provides services to MPS comes under the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
