Min­uwan­goda Po­lice Sta­tion re-opened

80 po­lice of­fi­cers brought in from other sta­tions

The Min­uwan­goda Po­lice Sta­tion, which was tem­po­rar­ily closed for the dis­in­fec­tion process, was re-opened yes­ter­day, Po­lice Spokesman DIG Ajith Ro­hana said.

He said 80 po­lice of­fi­cers were brought in from other po­lice sta­tions to the Min­uwan­goda Po­lice Sta­tion.

“In ad­di­tion to the of­fi­cers from po­lice sta­tions at the Gam­paha Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers from Ka­lu­tara, Nika we ra ti ya, pa hal ag am a,b oral and a, ku nd a sale and El­pi­tiya Po­lice Train­ing Col­leges were also as­signed for du­ties, ”he said.

He said that the 85 po­lice of­fi­cers who were at the Min­uwan­goda Po­lice sta­tion were un­der­go­ing quar­an­tine af­ter be­ing sub­jected to PCR tests.

The oper­a­tions at the po­lice sta­tion was tem­po­rally halted yes­ter­day un­til re­lief of­fi­cers were brought in af­ter the owner of the po­lice can­teen was tested pos­i­tive for COVID-19.
