Minuwangod­a Police Station re-opened

80 police officers brought in from other stations

The Minuwangod­a Police Station, which was temporaril­y closed for the disinfecti­on process, was re-opened yesterday, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.

He said 80 police officers were brought in from other police stations to the Minuwangod­a Police Station.

“In addition to the officers from police stations at the Gampaha Division, officers from Kalutara, Nika we ra ti ya, pa hal ag am a,b oral and a, ku nd a sale and Elpitiya Police Training Colleges were also assigned for duties, ”he said.

He said that the 85 police officers who were at the Minuwangod­a Police station were undergoing quarantine after being subjected to PCR tests.

The operations at the police station was temporally halted yesterday until relief officers were brought in after the owner of the police canteen was tested positive for COVID-19.
