Nearly 18,000 individuals placed under quarantine
9,630 in quarantine process
Over 8,000 placed in selfquarantine

Nearly 18,000 individuals have been placed under quarantine of which over 8,000 individuals are under selfquarantine while over 9,630 individuals are quarantined in 85 quarantine centres across the country.
Public Health Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) Secretary M. Balasooriya told Daily Mirror that over 8,000 individuals were under self-quarantine in the aftermath of the Minuwangoda cluster.
“Out of the total persons under self-quarantine, 6,000 are from the Minuwangoda and Divulapitiya areas where the risk is still on, ”balasooriya said.
“The individuals in 12 districts are being observed and monitored by the 1,650 Public Health Inspectors.the districts are Gampaha, K al uta ra, gal le, ma tara, mon ara gala, ma tale, bad ulla, An ur ad hap ur a, ku run egala, jaffna, ratnapura and Puttalam, ”he added.
Meanwhile, according to the National Operations Centre for prevention of Covid-19, 9,630 individuals are quarantined in 85 quarantine centres operated by Sri Lanka Army. It also said 49,689 individuals have left the quarantine centres after completing the quarantine process.
