Brig. Abeyratne appointed Vice President of SLVB
Brigadier Mahesh Abeyratne has been appointed a Vice President of the Sri
Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB).
He replaces a veteran volleyball administrator G.T.S.K. Abeysiriwardena who resigned from the post of Vice President, according to SLVB secretary A.S. Nalaka.
A national level player who excelled in the 80s decade, Brig.
Abeyratne has qualified as a Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 volleyball coach from the international body FIVB.A former student of Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, Brig.abeyratne served as Secretary of SLVB from 2000 to 2004 and also Chairman of the National Selection Committee. Apart from volleyball, Brig. Abeyratne has competed in athletics, tennis, badminton and squad at school and national competitions.
