KELANIYA UNIVERSITY STUDENT TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

● Student’s mother and sister tested negative for the virus

A female student of Kelaniya University’s Social Sciences Faculty has been tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday.

● Two more female students who had contacts with the infected student have also been subjected to PCR tests

Media Director cum Senior Lecturer of the University of Kelaniya Wijayananda Rupasinghe said that the student’s father who is an employee of the Minuwangoda apparel factory was also tested positive for COVID-19.

However, the student’s mother and sister tested negative for the virus, the Director said.

Meanwhile, two more female students who had contacts with the infected student have also been subjected to PCR tests.

He said the Kelaniya University was closed on the October 4 and the student had last visited the university on September 30.
