ENCOURAGING FEEDBACK FOR THARINDU’S ‘AMMA’

-

Tharindu Perera who is known for his skills in the music scene, is now making a new move to establish himself as a solo artiste.

Tharindu has just launched his newest solo song and music video titled ‘Amma’ which is gaining popularity among music lovers.

“I am a person who focuses more on quality than quantity. That was the attitude even during my band days. This song ‘Amma’ penned by Shehan Galahitiyawa and composed by Ashan Fernando, is an emotional number and it is based on a theme closest to anyone’s heart. I believe that was a strongpoint to get such an amazing feedback,” said Tharindu.

“I have been in the music field for more than 20 years as a percussion player and vocalist.

I am a person who focuses more on quality than quantity. That was the attitude even during my band days

I played for Saman and the Clan, City Creek and other bands including mine. Since my schooldays at Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa I was a fervent music buff. I played for SEAC when I was doing my OLS. But my ambition now is to make a mark as a solo artiste. Though many people blame singers of this generation, there are people like us who want to be different and do something meaningful. But it’s not easy to reach the target audience without the support of the media, especially the electronic. I feel channels are creating a huge gap between us and our fans. They should identify and help potential youngsters to reach their audiences,” said Tharindu while thanking Ashan, Shehan and others who helped him create Amma.
