Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 20 runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket match played in Dubai, United Arab Emirates yesterday.

SRH, chasing a target of 167 runs, were able to score only 147 for eight in reply, despite a fine 57 from Kane Williamson.

Earlier, CSK put up a total of 167 runs on the board after Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni had won the toss and elected to bat first.

Shane Watson was the highest rungetter for CSK as he scored 42 runs with three sixes and one boundary while Ambati Rayudu made a valuable contribution of 41 with the help of two sixes and three boundaries.

CSK of course had a poor start to their innings as opener Francois du Plessis (0) was sent back to the pavilion by Sandeep Sharma in the third over.

Sam Curran was then joined by Watson on the field. Curran played with an attacking mindset and smashed two sixes and as many boundaries off Khaleel Ahmed in the fourth over.

CSK: 167/6 in 20 overs (Sam Curran 31, Shane Watson 42, Ambati Rayudu 41, Mahendra Singh Dhoni 21, Ravindra Jadeja 25 n.o, Sandeep Sharma 2/19, Khaleel Ahmed 2/45, Thangarasu Natarajan 2/41)
