A SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING

A service of thanksgiving for the life of the late Dr Neville Cooray was held recently at St Mary’s Church, Lauries Road. His widow Rohini, son Anil with Tania, sisters in law. Shiromal, Hiran, other nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues were present. Neville had spent many years in the US and was much loved and respected both there and here in his homeland, where he spent his life after retirement. Many tributes were paid to him. Hiran Cooray spoke on behalf of the family, referring to the happy times with Neville when he went to the US for studies and the affection and warm hospitality shown right through his time there by his Uncle Neville and Aunt Rohini and related many anecdotes about his uncle from this stage in their lives.
