Karagampit­iya fish vendor test positive

• 22 PEOPLE WITH WHOM SHE HAS HAD CLOSE CONTACTS WERE TAKEN TO A QUARANTINE CENTRE IN MADAMPE

A 63-year-old female fish vendor,who was engaged in business at the Karagampit­iya weekly fair in Dehiwela has tested positive for Covid-19,the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

It said those who bought fish from her were advised to seek medical advice. She has also visited a private dental clinic in Dehiwela.

She is a resident of Red Cross Housing Scheme in Sandungama, kandawala Road, Ratmalana.she was admitted to the Kalubowila Base Hospital for fever and cough before being tested positive for Covid-19.

Later, 34 people from 10 houses of the housing scheme, have been placed under selfquaran­tine while 22 people of four families with whom she has had close contacts were taken to a quarantine centre in Madampe.

The manner in which she has contracted the virus has not been establishe­d yet.
