NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES WHO COULD WORK

Health officials should recommend

The number of employees who could work at state and private institutio­ns and factories islandwide, should be decided on the recommenda­tion of the health officials, police said yesterday.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the work force at state and private places could be employed under conditions imposed by the regional health officers.

Commenting that Sri Lanka has been designated as an Infectious Disease Area, the DIG said that operations at work places should be conducted on a shift system wherever possible.

The employer or person in charge of any institutio­n or work place should ensure that the body temperatur­e of every person is checked before they enter the institutio­n or the workplace.they should also provide adequate hand washing facilities with soap or sanitizer and ensure that every person who enters such institutio­ns wash their hands.all personnel should wear face masks and maintain the required social distancing.
