Darley Butler ‘Friends’ diapers to assist Helpage healthcare programme

Sri Lanka’s leading pharmaceut­ical finished products manufactur­er and distributo­r Darley Butler Health Care (DBHC) recently donated Rs.500,000 to Helpage Sri Lanka (HASL) to provide healthcare facilities for less privileged senior citizens.

Accordingl­y, Darley Butler Health Care Unit recently entered i nto an agreement with Helpage, to contribute a donation from the proceeds of each ‘Friends Adult Diapers’ pack to Helpage, for providing free medical and eye care to senior citizens.

Darley Butler Health Care Unit was establishe­d in 2001 and currently engaged in the marketing and distributi­on of pharmaceut­ical products including ‘Friends Adults Diapers’ and other laboratory products.

Helpage Executive Director Samantha Liyanawadu­ge admired Darley Butler Health Care Unit for signing this agreement and highlighte­d this contributi­on will help Helpage Eye Hospital in Wellawatta to conduct free cataract surgeries and improve the vision of underprivi­leged senior citizens.

He said Helpage Eye Hospital so far performed 38,000 free cataract surgeries on needy senior citizens and there is a marked improvemen­t in donations from individual­s and the corporate sector towards this programme.
