Dar­ley But­ler ‘Friends’ di­a­pers to as­sist Hel­page health­care pro­gramme

Sri Lanka’s lead­ing phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal fin­ished prod­ucts man­u­fac­turer and dis­trib­u­tor Dar­ley But­ler Health Care (DBHC) re­cently do­nated Rs.500,000 to Hel­page Sri Lanka (HASL) to pro­vide health­care fa­cil­i­ties for less priv­i­leged se­nior ci­ti­zens.

Ac­cord­ingly, Dar­ley But­ler Health Care Unit re­cently en­tered i nto an agree­ment with Hel­page, to con­trib­ute a do­na­tion from the pro­ceeds of each ‘Friends Adult Di­a­pers’ pack to Hel­page, for pro­vid­ing free med­i­cal and eye care to se­nior ci­ti­zens.

Dar­ley But­ler Health Care Unit was es­tab­lished in 2001 and cur­rently en­gaged in the mar­ket­ing and dis­tri­bu­tion of phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal prod­ucts in­clud­ing ‘Friends Adults Di­a­pers’ and other lab­o­ra­tory prod­ucts.

Hel­page Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor Sa­man­tha Liyanawadu­ge ad­mired Dar­ley But­ler Health Care Unit for sign­ing this agree­ment and high­lighted this con­tri­bu­tion will help Hel­page Eye Hos­pi­tal in Wellawatta to con­duct free cataract surg­eries and im­prove the vi­sion of un­der­priv­i­leged se­nior ci­ti­zens.

He said Hel­page Eye Hos­pi­tal so far per­formed 38,000 free cataract surg­eries on needy se­nior ci­ti­zens and there is a marked im­prove­ment in do­na­tions from in­di­vid­u­als and the cor­po­rate sec­tor to­wards this pro­gramme.
