rime Minister Khan stated that he believed the Sri Lankas President and Prime Minister will take positive steps towards resolving the burial issue. Prime Minister Khan had expressed his confidence in the capacity of SL Leaders to improve harmony among all Sri Lankans and address their citizen’s grievances with view to foster goodwill among all nations.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan had informed the opposition Muslim MPS that he was confident that Sri Lanka leaders will work towards bringing about harmony among all Sri Lankans and resolve the issue pertaining to the last rites of those who succumb to COVID-19, some of the MPS said yesterday. SLMC Leader and Member of Parliament Rauff Hakeem in his twitter message said that the Pakistani Premier had expressed his confidence in his Sri Lankan counterpar­ts in bringing harmony among all Sri Lankans.

“We had a pleasant and fruitful discussion with the Pakistan PM along with my colleagues from several Parties. He expressed confidence in the capacity of our Leaders to improve harmony among all Sri Lankans and address their citizen’s grievances with view to foster goodwill among nations,” Mr. Hakeem said in his twitter message.

MP Mujibur Rahman who also participat­ed in the meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan said the MPS discussed many issues with him. “We did discuss the burial of those who succumb to COVID 19 but did not give special focus to it.

Prime Minister Khan informed that he believed the Sri Lanka President and the Prime Minister will take positive steps towards resolving the burial issue,” he said. Mr. Hakeem, Mr. Rahman, MPS Rishad Bathiudeen, Ishaq Rahaman , Abdul Haleem, and Imran Maharoof were some of the Muslim MPS who met the Pakistan Prime Minister prior to his departure on Wednesday.
