Child Eye becomes first eye care facility to be awarded COVID-19 safety certificat­ion

Child Eye (Pvt.) Ltd.becomes the first eye care facility providing clinical and optical services in Sri Lanka as well as one of the few local medical institutes to be awarded the SLS 1672:2020 COVID-19 Safety Management System Certificat­ion from the Sri Lanka Standards Institutio­n (SLSI).

This certificat­ion verifies that the facility is protected from risk of exposure to COVID-19, and that all safety measures are in compliance with the government regulation­s and safety measures recommende­d by the World Health Organizati­on.

Further, this confirms the efficient reinforcem­ent of critical safety management practices in line with the regulated safety protocols to minimize the risks of COVID-19 within the facility. These safety measures include monitoring and reviewing of the safety measures, carrying out timely training and awareness programmes to educate staff members in order to ensure the strict adherence of the COVID19 Safety Protocols.

Sharing his thoughts on the certificat­ion, Balan Asirwatham, Manager - Child Eye (Pvt.) Ltd. stated, “We are proud to be the first eye care services facility in Sri Lanka and among very few medical facilities to have received this certificat­ion. The safety of our staff and community is our highest priority and during this global COVID-19 pandemic.

“As such, our commitment to giving our children a safe, reliable place to receive care is of paramount importance to us. Furthermor­e, receiving this certificat­ion from the Sri Lanka Standards Institutio­n for our COVID-19 related Health and Safety initiative­s is a testament to our commitment.”
