Fisheries Ministry commences work on auspicious time

Observing of the auspicious time to begin work after the New Year for the Ministry of Fisheries was held yesterday at the auditorium of the Ministry of Fisheries under the patronage of Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda and Minister of State Kanchana Wijesekera.

Minister Devanandaa­ddressed the officials of the Ministry conveying his heartiest wishes for the New Year. He said that the staff of the Ministry played a significan­t role in resolving all the serious problems faced by the fishing community during the pandemic. The Minister said that he wished that the staff, including the Secretary, would have the selfconfid­ence, and blessings to overcome all obstacles as The Ministry of Fisheries should make a significan­t contributi­on to the developmen­t of the national economy in the country during this year as well.
