WELCOME ON BOARD BASIL R
Congratulations on your entry into the Rajapaksa Clan, numbering fifty three, you being the fifty third, according to the grape vine that runs through our society.
During the two or three months you were relaxing in the States, Minister Namal R was omnipresent be it health , port city, youth affairs, economy and vaccination, he was giving directives, motivating the officials requesting them to carry out their responsibilities for the betterment of the needy citizens. The “Jathiye Sannivedakaya” the SLBC and the Rupavahini provided ample time-space for his directives and motivational addresses.
Today you will be sworn as an MP from the SLPP National List and we are told by SLBC news, that you will be entrusted with the all important portfolio, the Minister of Economic Development.
The entire country, specially the 6.9 million citizens are well aware of your intergrity, capacity, dedication and the most important ingredient necessary at the moment, your attitude to achieve results.
Thus, where the Yahapalanaya failed miserably you will be able to resurrect the dwindling economy and perhaps be the Lee Kuan Yew of Sri Lanka.
We are told that you are a fine listener, but when it comes to execution, you have your own way. This is your innate strength Mr. BR. However, we hope you will not carry away and allow any unnecessary tags to be attached to your good name by unscrupulous citizens. Be that as it may.
Dear Mr BR, perhaps you may not be aware of this fact. The Social Service Department distributes a government” dole” Dilindu Deemanawak starting from Rs 150 to 1000/depending on the Grama Sevaka Niladhari’s recommendation, to the poorest of the poor. If State Minister Mr.cabraal is asked to calculate the total amount of monies from the Treasury allocated to pay the 53 Rajapaksa Clan members who are directly in the Government or in affiliated statutary Institutes, that amount of money would be sufficient to pay each of those poorest of the poor about Rs 2015/- per month.
Will you please do something about this too when you are settled- down with your Ministry activities
ATHULA RATNAYAKE
