Based on influencing the flow of Chi or energy through your home and other aspects of your environment, Feng Shui principles align energy patterns with healing forces of nature. The result is a harmonious home that lays the foundation for emotional, spiritual, and physical health.

In the practice of Feng Shui, your first impressions as you enter a home or room is very important. By crossing a threshold you enter a new environment or another world. You experience particular qualities, moods, and presences, both visible and invisible, that conditions our homes and workplaces and influences our lives.

Feng Shui is not just a design element to get to know where to place the bed, mirror, wealth and stove, it’s an art of orienting, aligning and tapping into good quality energy.

This calls for skill, intuition and knowledge of compass directions and mathematics in interpreting the floor plan and layout of the house also known as the natal chart of the house.

Feng Shui addresses almost the entire spectrum of human aspiration. The practice operates at various levels. It can be highly personalized when practiced according to specific compass school formulas, or it can be broad based and generalized. In the ancient days the method involves interpretation of the terrain, contours, shapes, topography, elevation, rivers, and waterways, while compass Feng Shui offers recommendations in terms of compass directions.

The most ideal situation according to the Feng Shui design would be to define the power areas first and to design the whole house around them. It would be in your best interests to apply Feng Shui and Vaastu from the inception to have the best design in your house. The areas where you are likely to spend most of your time are the best power areas. These areas need to be the centre of focus and then you can have the whole house designed around it.

Bedroom is n important area to have proper sleep to allow the body to rejuvenate and energize itself; hence Feng Shui bedroom design can provide you a tip for deciding the direction of your bed and position based on the specific direction and afflictions of the building. Similarly, the home office can be situated in a direction that supports financial and career achievements and the entrances to the house can be designed in a way that they receive the Chi, or life force energy, from the most favorable directions for the building.

As there are power areas in the house there can also be problem areas that can affect your health, relationships and finances in a negative ways. You can determine a problem area in your house by relating it to the problem you are facing presently in your day-to-day life. For example, if you are facing financial problems you can find out the areas that correspond to finance and money and then use Feng Shui design to enhance the Chi flow in that area to bring about the desired change.

Taking stock of your emotions, your relationships, your finances, and everything in your home that affects you throughout an ordinary day is crucial for trying out Feng Shui design changes. Every Feng Shui design change that you make is important, even when the change is in a form of a furniture placement or positioning of other inanimate objects using Feng Shui.

What we see, and where we go, strongly determine the lives we lead, Feng Shui design uses all elements in moderation for creating the balance in a space and makes us move further towards our goals in life.
