SAJITH RESPONDS TO VIEWS OF SJB PARLIAMENT­ARIAN

Mr. Premadasa said he expected to have a dialogue with the MPS concerned and iron out whatever difference­s that might exist

In response to the remarks made by SJB MP

Chaminda Wijesiri that the party should change its stance to gain power by pointing out the shortcomin­gs of the government, Leader of Opposition cum SJB

Leader Sajith Premadasa said even a schoolchil­d understand­s how his party works.

“We have moved away from traditiona­l ways, an Opposition party adopted for the first time after gaining independen­ce. We have already donated medical equipment to 28 hospitals as per our programme"vipakshaye­n Husmak". I even requested the EU not to withdraw the GSP plus because I have the vision to develop the country. Even a child who goes to the Montessori is aware how the SJB works,” Mr. Premadasa told journalist­s who inquired about the comments made by MP Wijesiri.

Mr. Premadasa was questioned by the journalist­s when he came to the CID together with MP Manusha Nanayakkra last morning.

Asked whether some SJB MPS were ignorant of the issue, Mr. Premadasa said he expected to have a dialogue with the MPS concerned and iron out whatever difference­s that might exist.

Mr. Premadasa also condemned the attempts made by the government to question the Opposition MPS and journalist­s who disclosed various scams.
