FUEL STATION WORKER MANHANDLED FOR ASKING TO WEAR FACE MASK

An employee at a fuel station in Meegoda was hospitaliz­ed after a man had attacked and thrown the employee on the ground for having asked to wear a face mask. Police said a motorcycli­st who had come to a fuel station without a face mask had threatened the employee of the fuel station after he was asked to keep his distance.

According to the police, the motorcycli­st who left the fuel station, returned a few minutes later with another man wearing full-face helmet and assaulted the employee. another employee of the filling station who tried to prevent the attack was also assaulted by the two culprits.

The victim was admitted to the Padukka Hospital and later transferre­d to Kalubowila Hospital for further treatment, police said. Meegoda Police are investigat­ing.
