Petroleum Upstream Development: Speaker certifies Bill, new regulations on Monday

With the new Petroleum Resources Bill being certified into law, Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila said he would issue regulations under it next Monday, seeking legal nod for specification of qualifications for the directors of the Petroleum Development Authority (PDA).

The Minister told Daily Mirror that qualifications of members of the director board would be specified through regulations under the new Act. The new law provides for the regulation of the petroleum upstream development.
