Bangladesh beat Oman in warm-up match

Bangladesh got off to a winning start in their ICC T20 World Cup preparatio­ns with a 60-run win over Oman ‘A’ in a warm-up match played at Al Amerat, Oman yesterday.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh scored 207 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Naim (63) and acting captain Liton Das (53) scored half-centuries for the team. Nurul Hasan was devastatin­g with the bat, scoring seven sixes in his 49-run cameo off 15 balls.

Samay Shrivastav­a and Aamir Kaleem took two wickets each for Oman ‘A’.

In reply, Oman ‘A’ was able to only record 147/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Shoaib Khan top-scored with 43 runs, with no other notable contributi­on from the rest of the team, except for Rafiullah’s cameo of 31 (14) in the latter stages of the game.

Shoriful Islam took three wickets for Bangladesh while Mohammad Saifuddin chipped in with two.
