SLT-MOBITEL AND MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS FELICITATE­S WHEELCHAIR TENNIS TEAM FOR WORLD CUP 2021 TRIUMPHS

SLt-mobitel joined the Ministry of Youth and Sports to felicitate Sri Lanka’s Wheelchair Tennis Team for their significan­t achievemen­ts at the Wheelchair Tennis World Cup in Italy during a special ceremony held at the Sports Ministry recently.

To recognise and celebrate the team’s historic performanc­e, Slt-mobitel donated each player Rs 1,000,000 in cash and also presented Rs 250,000 for the trainer.

Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Developmen­t Co-ordination and Monitoring, and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Developmen­t participat­ed in the presentati­on ceremony with Lalith Seneviratn­e, Group CEO, SLT, together with senior officials from the Sports Ministry and Slt-mobitel.

The Sri Lankan Team led by Suresh Dharmasena, Lasantha Ranaweera and D.M. Gamini, returned triumphant­ly after accomplish­ing a creditable sixth place finish; having beaten Brazil, Belgium and Poland earlier in the championsh­ip rounds. The team was coached by Jagath Welikala.
