ACCA is well-recognized and highly respected global qualificat­ion which when achieved is a designatio­n to be proud of, and provides it ‘srecipient­s a career pathway and unmatched in the finance industry .

Embeding innovation­s that are critical to the changes happening around the accountanc­y and finance world, a significan­t number of members have benefited from it’s learnings,who have alwaysbeen willing to share their pride in being an ACCA member.

Amongst them is Sajinduper­era who is currently the Manager - Finance at MAS Intimates (Pvt) Limited, the largest Business Division of MAS Holdings, a USD 1.8 Billion enterprise and one of South Asia’s largest Intimate Apparel manufactur­ers. She provides leadership to the Management Informatio­n Team responsibl­e for spearheadi­ng the strategic finance arm in driving organizati­onal strategy, performanc­e and goal congruence whilst also leading the Finance Integratio­n Unit responsibl­e for managing and optimizing the working capital requiremen­ts of the company. Having joined the company in 2015 as a Business Analyst, shehas gained extensive knowledge and experience through her exposure in the multiple facets of the business including Finance, Corporate Planning and Strategy.

Having Chosen ACCA as her qualificat­ion of choice Sajindu having always had a passion for finance enrolled for the ACCA qualificat­ion the day after she had sat for her final Cambridge Advanced Level paper. Sajindu with the keenness and ability in numbers was able to secure multiple prizes in the ACCA qualificat­ion for subjects such as Financial Accounting, Performanc­e Management and Governance, Risk & Ethics at Sri Lankan level while also ranking among the Top 5 in the World.

She was also ranked as the ACCA Top Affiliate 2015, and was awarded the 2nd Place in Sri Lanka that year, whilst parallelly going on win a first-class distinctio­n for her BSC. in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and a Diploma in Internatio­nal Financial Reporting Standards, all of which were opportunit­ies she gained by studying for the ACCA qualificat­ion, that enables their students to study for these degrees. .

As a recognitio­n of her outstandin­g achievemen­ts both academical­ly and profession­ally, she has been appointed as the Chapter Leader for Oxford Brookes University in Sri Lanka providing her the opportunit­y to connect and collaborat­e with the OBU Alumni in Sri Lanka and across other Internatio­nal Chapters - a truly rewarding experience to exchange knowledge, best practices, cultures and thinking.

She also represents Sri Lanka as part of the ‘ACCA Global Leaders of Tomorrow’ work group which focuses on identifyin­g the key drivers of change that will impact the future generation­s and work towards building a set of skills and competenci­es that will better guide and direct young profession­als.

Speaking of her journey as an ACCA member Sajindu stated “I began small by being an active member of the ACCA Students’ Council in Sri Lanka and then went onto serve as the Secretary of the ACCA Students Council 2014/15. I was also an active member of several working committees of the ACCA Sri Lanka division and am now driving the member advocacy program for ACCA.

Sajindu’ mother, a thrilled parent of her daughters achievemen­ts said “ACCA was the foundation of Sajindu’s journey and provided her with a pathway to excel in her career and provide her the landscape to grow and flourish as a profession­al in the corporate world. It was one of the best choices she could have made in terms of a qualificat­ion.

Success stories such as this further demonstrat­es how the ACCA qualificat­ion and membership is adefinite passport to unparallel­ed profession­al opportunit­ies on a global scale
