Technical issue allows extended trading at CSE

-

Trading at the Colombo bourse went on for additional nine minutes yesterday, due to a technical issue, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) said.

CSE CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike told Mirror Business that a technical issue resulted in the stock market being operated manually, instead of the automated system. “It is all automated. Due to a technical issue, the automated system didn’t work and we had to halt and close the market manually. This resulted in the trading to go on for an additional nine minutes,” Bandaranaike said.

He said the issue is being rectified.

Bandaranaike also shared that all trades that took place till 2:39 p.m. will be considered by the CSE as valid.

Trading at the CSE commences at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.
