Mr. Keerthi Pasquel
Keerthi Pasquel is a wellknown musician and a singer in Sri Lanka who has been in the field of music for over 40 years. Keerthi’s passion for serving the needy led to the formation of Help Circles (Guarantee) Limited, a non-profit charitable organization spearheaded by Mr. Pasquel himself. Individually and through Help Circles he has completed many charitable projects:
Donation of Bone Marrow Transplant Unit to Maharagamaapeksha Hospital and later enhanced the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit from 2 room facility to 8 rooms. This is the only state funded stem cell transplant facility in the country and the largest stem cell transplant facility in the country. The expansion of this unit has helped to minimize the long waiting list of patients anticipating medical assistance.
Donation of Intraperitoneal Hyperthermic chemotherapy system (HIPEC MACHINE) to the Kotalawala
Defence University Hospital, which is equipped to treat various abdominal cancers and this is the only machine available in Colombo at present.
Water purification project to support the kidney patients at Handapanagala.
Coordinating with the Education Ministry and Zonal Directors of aesthetic studies, 1000 students had been selected representing all nine provinces and is being in the process of distributing violins to all provinces.
Help Circles also fund little children who suffer from leukemia monthly to meet all their medicinal needs, and provide funding for eye surgeries.
In addition to his charitable work towards the medical sector, Mr. Pasuel has also given Guitar lessons for Prison inmates at the Welikada Prison. He trained many inmates to bring up their musical talents and a show was held at the Nelum Pokuna for the first time in the history of Sri Lanka where prison inmates showcased their talents. Keerthi conducted free Music lessons for orphans at Vajira Sri Children’s home and donated musical instruments for the use of the orphans.
Keerthi never hesitated to raise fund through his concerts for worthy causes amongst many “the Child Foundation’ collected funds through Keerthi’s concerts for Tsunami affected children.
The lions have decided to honour Mr. Keerthi Pasquel with the “Most Outstanding Citizen Award 2022”under this year’s theme ‘EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE SOCIETY’, in recognition of his contribution to the less fortunate people in our society as a musician and a singer.
