Preliminary round of Munchee National Super League Volleyball begins today

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) has decided to conduct the preliminary round of the 2022 Munchee National Super League Volleyball Tournament from today (9) at the Volleyball House indoor stadium in Galle. The first round will be completed on May 13.

There are eight teams taking part in the men’s tournament and six teams in the women’s segment, according to SLVB Secretary A.S. Nalaka.

Army, Air Force, Navy, Police, CEB, Ports Authority, NYSC, and Ocean Lanka are the teams in the men’s competition while Army, Navy, Air Force, Ports Authority, Hirdramani and NYSC are the teams in the women’s segment.

Winners of both men and women competitions will receive LKR 150,000 and the runnersup LKR 100,000 in addition to special awards.

No decision has been made as to when the finals of the tournament will be held but it will be played at NYSC Maharagama.

The national pool is to be selected based on the performances of players at this tournament.
