World Bank concerned about “perpetration of violence”
The World Bank (WB) yesterday expressed grave concerns on the current status of Sri Lanka, as the protestors came under attack by the progovernment supporters.
“We are deeply concerned with the perpetration of violence in #Srilanka,” WB Country Director for the Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka Faris H. Hadadzervos tweeted yesterday.
“Those responsible are only standing in the way of the country’s immediate economic recovery and making the task even more difficult for development partners,” he said.
