Rudeness of rulers

-

The Gold Face peaceful protesters were allegedly assaulted by the Pohottu supporters and cohorts of Mahinda in an ugly and unpleasant incident which led to much brutal violence throughout the island.the protesters have been demanding the 225 Members of Parliament along with the prime minister and President to leave the Parliament.this is because they are angry. They accuse them of corruptions.

We could witness some of the thugs and rowdies attended the meeting held at the Temple Trees prior to the brutal incident and marched to GOTAGOGAMA at Galle Face Green. They rudely attacked the peaceful protesters. It was a ruthless act by rulers who have been enjoying all privileges throughout their political careers. Finally this led to the public causing mayhem.

The protesters have been insisting on the departure of the Rajapaksas, who were power hungry and were planning a road map for their dynasty style of ruling. The country’s current economic crisis is the main cause for this political instability which was created by the senseless and irresponsible rulers.

The rulers mainly understand the weaknesses of voters and the powers given to them via the constitution and its amendments. They plan their crooked and hanky panky businesses in politics. It was Mihinda who brought the 18th amendment to the constitution soon after his 2010 presidential election victory.

The amendment was brought in only for his own benefit because he was looking for an opportunity to be elected as a president for the third time in the country. Likewise his younger brother the incumbent president Gotabaya Rajapaksa also backed the 20th amendment only for the benefits of himself and family by obtaining the support of faithful MPS and Ministers. The Rajapaksa clan is fully through with the constitution and its vital verses to divert certain verses to their own political survival. They also borrowed heavy loans especially from China and invested in the projects which did not yield any immediate returns.

This is how the country’s economy reached the bottom day by day and finally it has reached to neck level water’ leading to social and economic instability and bankruptcy.

This is the time for the new leader with fresh ideas to lift the country and its economy to a strong and stable position, so as to alleviate poverty, form strong education and foreign policies with farsighted intention, develop the country and provide people with standard and satisfactory lives.
