People’s Leasing contribute­s towards waste mgt. efforts at Sigiriya World Heritage Site

People’s Leasing and Finance PLC provide their contributi­on for the installati­on of the waste segregatio­n bins in Sigiriya Rock Fortress in Dambulla on a need identified under the guidance of the Central Cultural Fund.

The effort is carried outin collaborat­ion with Department of Archeology in Dambulla, Dambulla Pradeshiya Sabha and MOH Office.

The primary objective of the initiative is to create a proper waste disposal system to preserve our country’s ancient world heritage sites as well assisting in achieving the United Nations Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals (SDGS).

Waste Management involves the regular collection, transporta­tion, processing, disposal or recycling and monitoring of different types of waste materials. Through proper management of the waste segregatio­n, we can save a considerab­le amount of money and prevent the environmen­t from being harmed.

The project was initiated in accordance with a concept by Shamindra Marcelline - Chief Executive Officer/general Manager of People’s Leasing Company.
