Sri Lanka to compete in Asian Games Women’s hockey qualifiers
The women’s national hockey team will take part in the Asian Games 2023 Hockey qualifying tournament, the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation (SLHF) confirmed.
The qualifying tournament, conducted by the Asian Hockey Federation, will be held from June 6 to 14 in Jakarta, Indonesia with the participation of nine to 11 teams.
The SLHF has formed a 37-member national pool in preparation for this tournament.
The final squad of 20 will be chosen after the selection trials on May 21 or 22 at the Colombo Hockey Turf.
Sri Lanka men’s hockey team already qualified for the Asian Games after finishing fifth out of nine teams in the Men’s qualifying tournament last week.
