The 29th Singer-mca Super Premier League comes to a rain-affected conclusion

-

Rain played a major part in the league stage of the 29th SingerMCA Super Premier League 2022 which had a damp finish last Tuesday.

Out of the three scheduled matches in the last round of the league, two matches, between Mode Engineering and HNB at Dombagoda and Hayleys Group and CDB Finance at CCC, were called off without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain.

The third match at the Colts Grounds, between John Keells Group and Sampath Bank, partly survived. The match was reduced to a 36-over-a-side clash, but could not be completed due to bad light, with John Keells winning on the DLS method.

As the league stage was completed after 15 matches, the first three places in the league table were bagged by unbeaten Citizens Development Business, Mode Engineering and John Keells Group
