ACM Lafir no more
Former Antonian cricketer ACM Lafir passed away yesterday (May 18) in Colombo at the age of 89 years.
Lafir and Ronald G Stephen put on 276 runs for the first wicket in the 1954 Big Match against Trinity College which stands as a record for any school match todate. Lafir played under CI Gunasekera for All Ceylon against the visiting England outfit led by Ted Dexter.
His Janaza will take place in Colombo today (May 19).
