Two MPS yesterday said they are fed up with politics and do not want to play a role in Parliament anymore.

SLPP MPS Geetha Kumarasinghe and former Finance Minister Ali Sabry who had emotional breakdowns in the House said they don’t want to remain in politics anymore.

“I don’t want to come to Parliament anymore considering the fate which the politicians have to suffer,” MP Sabry said.

“My child living aboard was informed by my relatives that our house has been attacked.this was false as my residence was never attacked. My child was affected by this act. Also, some posts on Facebook when MP Ali Sabry Rahim’s house was being attacked were unbelievable. One person posted saying the MP’S house was being attacked, while another posted saying ‘I will join where is the MP’S house’.this is unbelievable,” he said. MP Geetha Kumarasinghe also said she was considering giving up politics after her house was attacked. I am living alone and there are no male persons in my house. I was hurled up in a room when it was attacked. The attacker called out to me and asked me to come out, but I was afraid to come out.“i don’t mind losing my house, but I am saddened as the film awards I won had been destroyed,” she said, breaking down emotionally.
