COPE instructs Litro to supply gas to highly residentia­l areas

● $ 120Mn Indian line of credit will be used to purchase gas

Committee on Public Enterprise­s (COPE) has instructed Litro gas to focus on supplying gas to highly residentia­l areas, the Parliament unit said.

Litro Gas officials were summoned to COPE yesterday, where a broad discussion took place between them and COPE members. It was highlighte­d that there is a possibilit­y of purchasing gas using insurance funds. It has also been revealed that $ 120 million Indian line of credit will be used to purchase gas as well. Accordingl­y, Litro Gas was advised to supply 60 per cent of its gas cylinders to highly residentia­l areas.

It was further revealed that World Bank aid worth $ 80 million will also be used to purchase gas.
