TRUDEAU PORTRAYS BIASED SPECTACLE

-

Born on Christmas day in 1971, Justin Trudeau graduated in Arts and subsequently in Education but notwithstanding his acumen and experience as a World leader does not appear appreciate the importance of maintaining international relations among countries. From a mere 150 persons in 1983, Canada is home to 237,000 people from the Tamil community, according to the Census of 2021, of whom 192,890 live in Ontario and 20,000 in Quebec.

Premier Trudeau represents the Papineau Constituency which is located in Quebec.the contribution to the voting strength of Canada by the Tamil people is only 7%.Against this backdrop, he has chosen to antagonize over 20 million Sri Lankans and more Sri Lankans around the World. He has declared May 18 as the ‘Tamil Genocide Day’ and this will be commemorated as such in the years ahead in Canada.

This is a serious allegation which has been made unilaterally by a Prime Minister of a country in support of a Terrorist group and their sympathizers which caused mayhem in Sri

Lanka causing the deaths of a large numbers of civilians and the members of the Armed forces who stoically defended their country with many laying down their lives. Genocide has taken place in many parts of the World and they have been declared as such on the examination of the events by international agencies with the production of documentation photographs by independent organizations.a classic example is what transpired in Rwanda where independent documentation proved that Government-led forces along with the Hutu Tribe, slaughtered an estimated 800,000 people belonging to the Tutsi Tribe in 100 days.

We Sri Lankans challenge Premier Trudeau to produce the evidence in his possession to substantiate this wild allegation. It is obvious that he has taken this step as an extension of a gesture of gratitude to the meagre number of Tamil voters, but it is doubtful whether the local Canadian Embassy will subscribe to this view. International leaders do not have the right to propagate false views extracted from people who are remnants of the terrorist unit, which still harbour dreams of self-governance which is the Tamil Diaspora dispersed around the World.
