Four out of four for Puttalam and Anuradhapura

Puttalam and Anuradhapura continued their winning spree in the ongoing Under 19 Provincial Youth League limited over cricket tournament when they recorded comfortable wins against Kurunegala Zone 2 and Mullaitivu in the matches played at Kurunegala and Anuradhapura. Puttalam’s five-wicket win came on the back of a run-a-ball unbeaten knock of 80 that included nine boundaries and three sixes by Vishwa Rajapakse who put on a stand of 56 runs for the fourth wicket with Dasun Perera, to help them chase the 189-run target in the 37th over. Anuradhapura coasted to an easy eight-wicket win in a low scoring encounter. Galle Zone 2 too maintained their unbeaten record when they defeated Matara by 73 runs at Karandeniya to secure their third successive win, thanks to half tons by Chehan Subasinghe and Dasun Chamod in the batting department and Tharindu Nirmal and Irushka Thimira shining in the bowling department. Kalutara Zone 2 overcame Kalutara Zone 3 and Ratnapura got the better of Hambantota in two other matches played at Maggona and Monaragala.
