Maduranga, Sasindu steer Polonnaruwa to massive win

Maduranga Jayalath and Sasindu Rashmika cracked half tons as the pair steered Polonnaruwa to record a massive 156-run win over Vavuniya in the Under 19 Provincial Youth League limited over tournament encounter played at Anuradhapura.

Maduranga was unfortunate to miss out on a ton by two runs, slamming a quick-fire 98 in 91 balls, that included nine boundaries and a six while Rashmika made 51.

The pair shared a valuable 102run stand for the sixth wicket to help Polonnaruwa, batting first and struggling on 79 for 5, end with a formidable score of 259.

Later, bowling trio Shanuka Srimal, Madhawa Ravindu and Sonal Ashwin shared nine wickets between them as they combined to bundle out

Vavuniya for a low score of 103 runs for Polonnaruwa to record their third win of the tournament.

Unbeaten Galle Zone 2 and Galle Zone 3 featured in a tie in the match played at Karandeniya with both teams making the identical score of 165.

Colombo Zone 2 and Badulla came out victorious against Gampaha Zone 3 and Ratnapura in the matches played at Wattala and Monaragala.
