Srilankan Airlines launches loyalty programme for foreign employment agencies

-

Srilankan Airlines has launched a loyalty programme with a host of benefits for foreign employment agencies.

Foreign employment agencies are a crucial intermediary, often making travel choices on behalf of migrant workers who rely on them to take care of their travel requirements.

A segment generating multiple millions of dollars in revenue annually, Srilankan has a dedicated team to support foreign employment agencies in addition to the newly introduced loyalty scheme.

Srilankan Airlines has been the choice airline for many foreign employment agencies booking passengers to the Middle East, given the airline’s extensive coverage of the region and the airline now hopes to give back to loyal agencies through the programme. Agencies who join the loyalty programme can enjoy discounts on duty free items sold onboard Srilankan Airlines and rebated tickets among other membership benefits.

“We are delighted to introduce the country’s first loyalty programme that is tailored to the local recruitment agency fraternity. This would serve to strengthen an already solid relationship between Srilankan Airlines and recruitment agenciesby means of enhanced recognition and incentives,” said Jayantha Abeysinghe, Regional Manager Sri Lanka & Indian Ocean of Srilankan Airlines.

Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Worldwide Sales & Distribution, Srilankan Airlines added, “Srilankan has persistently workedwith foreign employment agencies and migrant workers in fulfilling their specific travel needs even in times of adversity.

During the pandemic, Srilankan Airlines was at the forefront in assisting agencies and stranded migrant workers find their way back home. The loyalty programme is yet another extension of our commitment to this important customer group.”

The programme was launched during a recent conference that was attended by 100 foreign employment agencies, and news on the loyalty programme was received with enthusiasm. Srilankan will continue to work closely with the travel agency trade as the country faces a surge in demand for migrant work.
