CIPM signs MOU with Swiss Hospitalit­y Management Academy

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) recently signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing (MOU) with Swiss Hospitalit­y Management Academy Pvt Ltd (SHMA).

Under this MOU, CIPM will conduct a unique HRM programme catering to the hotel industry’s specific requiremen­ts. Concurrent­ly, CIPM and SHMA will offer a Diploma in Hospitalit­y Management, which will equip profession­als with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage human resources and operations in the hospitalit­y industry effectivel­y.

This collaborat­ion between CIPM and SHMA will result in mutual benefits, including enhanced profession­al developmen­t opportunit­ies, increased networking, and improved understand­ing of the two fields. In addition, through this partnershi­p, profession­als in both fields can exchange insights, best practices, and techniques, leading to innovation and improvemen­t in both areas.

Distinguis­hed representa­tives from both institutio­ns graced the ceremony. The Managing Director/ceo of Baurs and SHMA Director, Rolf Blaser, the Director of Finance and Compliance, Pavithra Samarasing­he, the Dean of Academy SHMA, Daniela Munasinghe, and the Manager, Sureeka Fernando, represente­d Baurs.

The CIPM was represente­d by its President Ken Vijayakuma­r, Vice President Priyantha Ranasinghe, Treasurer Saman Jayavickra­ma, Council members, CEO U.A.C Obeysekere, Director of Profession­al and Academics Affairs G.weerathung­a, Director Operations Himali Dassanayak­e and CIPM staff.

The collaborat­ion between CIPM and SHMA is expected to lead to the developmen­t of specialize­d programmes that cater to the specific needs of the hospitalit­y industry. These programmes are to equip profession­als with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage human resources and operations effectivel­y, ultimately contributi­ng to the growth and success of the industry.
