Book on ‘Conspiracy’…. Is it for the Dust Bin?

- ARIYA HEWAWASAM

The announcement that GR will release a book captioned “CONSPIRACY” would have made millions of average citizens laugh!

Having bankrupted the country, he is bleeding millions who are starving, by using tax payers’ money on housing, electricity, water, transport, security, et al, and had the wherewithal to hire a stooge to write a book!

The recent judgement of the Supreme Court in no ambiguous terms ruled that your family was responsible for the enormous damage done to the country and its people.

It is a well known fact that your sponsors conspired and misled the voters with antiminority slogans and created disharmony among people who got on well. Have you forgotten how an innocent medical officer who rendered a yeoman service in Kurunegala along with his wife were harassed, defamed and the family per se put through unbearable grief, by accusing him of a criminal act which he never committed? Consultant medical officers competent to assess scientifically, reported that the allegations were baseless and trumped up with malice to defame him.

It’s not out of place to add about a notorious fellow in the sacred robe, and a loquacious ‘drummer’ of hatred who entered politics with flip flops (now a billionaire of dual passport fame) bellowing to obtain support for you. The former scoundrel even had the gumption to engage in a fast-untodeath (with hidden food) in the precincts of the venerated Sri Dalada Maligawa.

Actually, your book should have been written to highlight how you fell victim to family greed for power (presuming that all voters of today were gullible) and in the process, lost your citizenship in the US, never to get again.

While you and your family are billionaires and only weep buckets of tears while bleeding the country even today, the much admired medical officer who got over two million rupees as salary arrears, donated the sum to the suffering people of Kurunegala.

What baffles me is how a few educated men in the withered Pohottuwa still cringe before GR, and not ask him how he managed to jet from the US frequently, when it’s common knowledge that travel costs a fortune these days. Are we, the tax payers silently getting swindled, is worth enquiry.
