SLIOT Challenge 2023 receives Slt-mobitel support

Slt-mobitel empowered SLIOT Challenge 2023 that culminated with a grand finale, held recently at the University of Moratuwa.

SLIOT Challenge 2023 was organised in collaborat­ion with the Computer Science and Engineerin­g Department, University of Moratuwa and the Informatio­n Technology and Communicat­ions Engineerin­g Sectional Committee, Institutio­n of Engineers Sri Lanka.

The competitio­n highlighte­d Slt-mobitel’s pivotal role in empowering and nurturing talent in the field of IOT, promoting a culture of innovation and technologi­cal advancemen­t. Slt-mobitel is also successful in providing a platform that brings together a diverse array of participan­ts, showcasing groundbrea­king projects and solutions in IOT while demonstrat­ing their outstandin­g talent and ingenuity.

University of Moratuwa Computer Science Department Dr. Kutila Gunasekara delivered an inspiring welcome address. The event was graced by Slt-mobitel Chief Marketing Officer Prabhath Dahanayake, who served as the chief guest, alongside SLT Deputy Chief Marketing Officer Rohana Ellawala and other officials, including University of Moratuwa Computer Science Department Prof. Chandana Gamage.

The grand finale featured teams from the school, university and open categories, each presenting innovative projects and solutions.

The winner of the school category was Team Maroons from Ananda College, Colombo. Team D Robotics and IOT from H/rajapaksha Central College Weeraketiy­a and Team Phoenix from Gateway College Kandy were placed second and third, respective­ly. In the university category, Team Hydrolink from the University of Moratuwa won first place, with Team Impax from the University of Peradeniya and Team Hades from the Java Institute of Advanced Technology emerging as the second and third contenders, respective­ly. In the open category, Team Energetix were adjudged winners, while Teams Agrifue and Rysera placed second and third, all showcasing the diverse talent and creativity in the IOT domain.

SLIOT Challenge 2023 grand finale was a celebratio­n of innovation, creativity and excellence in IOT. As the national ICT solutions provider, Slt-mobitel remains committed to supporting and promoting innovation in IOT. The successful culminatio­n of SLIOT Challenge 2023 – grand finale demonstrat­es the organisati­on’s dedication to highlighti­ng IOT achievers and breakthrou­ghs in the field of technology.
