Ashort flight from Sri Lanka, Singapore offers a plethora of options for travellers. Looking for a relaxed holiday? Check into one of the city’s upscale hotels to unwind. Thrill seekers can opt for the night safari. Nature lovers can head to the Jurong Bird Park or Singapore Zoo. With options aplenty, it might be tough to choose – so here are our hotspots in the ‘Lion City.’

CHANGI AIRPORT Not for nothing does Singapore’s Changi Airport win the best airport award every year. Spread across four terminals, this airport is the first hotspot in the city state.

From the newly opened mixed use space Jewel to dramatic art installations and a butterfly garden, the airport is a delight for tourists and locals alike.

BE LIKE A LOCAL Be a Singaporean in Singapore and soak in the local spirit of this bustling modern city by opting for public transport – the cheapest and most convenient mode of commuting. Whether you prefer the metro or bus, most routes connect many of the city’s famous haunts. To dive deeper into true local flavours, grab a bite at one of the many hawker centres. Our personal

favourite is the Lau Pa Sat at Raffles Quay. With possibly the best bibimbap, Thai curries and naan, you will be spoilt for choice!

GREEN GARDENS Did you say a 101 hectare garden in the centre of the city? Welcome to Gardens by the Bay, Singapore’s effort to improve the flora in the city. Gaze at themed landscapes, vertical gardens, imposing trees and plant life from around the world on reclaimed land.

ARCHITECTURAL CITY Many of the gorgeous buildings in Singapore are the result of the genius of IsraeliCanadian architect Moshe Safdie. Renowned amongst them is the ArtScience Museum, popularly known as the ‘welcoming hand of Singapore.’ It plays host to traditional exhibits and immersive experiences in the arts and sciences. Follow up with a lazy stroll across the Marina Bay Sands promenade. Catch a glimpse of the eponymous resort – also designed by Safdie – and end the day with Spectra, the 15 minute light and water show at the Event Plaza.

SENTOSA ISLAND The famous island resort offers panoramic views stretching as far as Indonesia! Whether you seek tranquil beaches, a sight of the biggest Merlion statue, or a movie or TV themed adventure at Universal Studios, this southern coastal attraction makes for a great excursion.
