We’ve had around nine months to fix our #workingfromhome (WFH) system. Getting on last-minute Zoom calls and sudden Teams meetings, working on fast tracked deadlines, planning things only to have them constantly changed or cancelled and so on.

And this is in addition to balancing a 16 hour workday with household chores and keeping up with Netflix! So have we fixed the system to suit our requirements?

Indeed, 2021 is upon us and it looks like remote working is here to stay… for better or worse. And while it’s easier, cheaper and less time-consuming to work, play, cook and chill in one set of clothes, what we wear has a direct impact on our attitude, professionalism and productivity.

While you may be tempted to adopt a devil-may-care attitude and not wear Prada, give these simple tips a go to boost your efficiency. In addition, you will have a groomed, professional and work appropriate look, as well as increase the quality of your video calls.

ATHLEISURE Leggings, sports bras, sporty T-shirts and sneakers are perfect to mix fashion with functionality.

CAMERA BLING Pick accessories such as bold earrings, a simple yet striking chain or even that chic hair, which makes a statement while on a video call.

VIDEO READY You don’t need heavy makeup; but a little lipstick and a dash of eyeliner can never go wrong!

COLOURS Try out some striking colours like black, orange and even a bit of navy blue if you will. The best colour add-ons are camisoles, boleros and shrugs.

DRESS UP Tempting though they may be, pj’s are a definite ‘no’! Your body and brain need to wake up. However comfortable nightwear is, it’s not suitable if you plan to work.
