Month of love
It’s February and time for artistes to release new songs about love or loss. It is also that time when expensive chocolates go on sale; hotels offer the best prices for a five course meal; and shopping malls blind us with paper hearts and glitter confetti – and tempt us with offers we simply can’t refuse.
Perhaps nothing really says ‘I love you’ more than a new pair of ‘his and hers’ silk robes...
In other words, the pressure is on!
Cupid has his arrows flying around and if you haven’t been hit by one as yet, don’t fret… because there’s a way to spend this month of love.

Our American friends are gearing up for an epic month of sport. The NFL’s popular Super Bowl is scheduled for 7 February in Tampa, Florida. Get ready to watch the country’s famous wide receivers, linebackers and quarterbacks fight for the Super Bowl 2021 title.
As intense as these matches may be, they’re not the only thing people love about the Super Bowl.
The competition’s half-time show is one of the most viewed telecasts around the world with musicians taking centre stage to celebrate the games and their favourite teams.
Another fun activity to watch live on the internet is the famous Yukon Quest – a 1,000 mile international sled dog race that’s considered an epic winter sporting event, which takes place annually on the first Saturday of the second month. So get ready to catch the adorable fluffy huskies running through the snow on 6 February.
If sport isn’t your thing but you do enjoy the glitter and glamour of Hollywood, the 78th Golden Globe Awards is worth tuning in to. The celebrated show will air on 28 February and be conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Wake up early to catch the prime time telecast, and see which of your favourite actors and movies make the cut this time around.
