BARISTA COFFEE LANKA

Twenty years young with a lifetime ahead to brew warmth, joy and love.

-

GGreat days are always bound with a good cup of Barista coffee. Ever since Sri Lanka woke up to a soulful mug of warmth and love from Barista on a December morning in 2002, it’s been a sensational coffee affair brewed to perfection over the past 20 years. The opening of the first Barista cafe at the World Trade Center Colombo revolutionised how folks consumed coffee. Strong Italian brews across a vast menu served with lots of love and sincere customer service have made Barista a much loved and favoured consumer brand.

Offering delights from creative latte art to scrumptious cheesecakes and deli sandwiches in a tasteful ambience of lush sofas with an overall chill vibe, Barista was a novelty in Sri Lanka at that time. In addition to bringing the warmth and character of Italian coffee houses to our tropical island, Barista set the standards high with wireless access, board games and even guitars on the walls, enhancing the lifestyle of our community.

A true leader in the Italian coffee space in Sri Lanka, Barista proudly holds the pioneering position of Sri Lanka’s cafe culture as its undisputed leader.

Today, two decades after opening its first outlet, Barista Coffee Lanka is the island’s largest coffee chain with 18 outlets located around the country from Colombo to Mirissa and from Mount Lavinia to Negombo, as well as high traffic locations such as the Bandaranaike International Airport and the Southern Expressway Service Area.

Coffee aficionados and amateurs alike flock to the bright orange branded cafes to enjoy soulful conversations, experience heartfelt moments and relax in a blissful setting over a classic cup of coffee, delicious snacks and desserts.

Made with imported Italian grown coffee beans, Barista has something for everyone. The range includes classic cappuccinos, robust espressos, caramel macchiatos and romantic affogatos. Its cold coffees such as the tiramisu iced latte and iced café mocha grande have become synonymous with guilty pleasures while its range of fresh juices, shakes, frappes and fizzy drinks are ideal for hot days.

Barista coffee is served along with an assortment of delicious deli food. Its croissant sandwiches, bagels and waffles, and hot comfort food such as lasagna, savoury pies and rice dishes have become staples for lunch and as snacks. And its breakfast deals and muffins are favoured options to begin the day. Barista is also loved for its signature range of cheesecakes with favourites such as the blueberry cheesecake being among the top desserts in the city.

In addition to bringing the Italian experience to Sri Lankans, over the years Barista has tweaked island favourites to deli-like delicacies. It’s become a truly Sri Lankan brand with a local touch and a global appeal.

Barista is the brand that understands the pulse of its customers, and ensures the highest quality of customer service from social media to inhouse relations and from dining to delivery. It has bravely gone beyond cafes to also have the country’s first coffee

app, which allows customers to quickly and conveniently order Barista coffee from their smartphones and have them delivered to their doorstep – thus making coffee only a step away.

The brand is so much more than only coffee and food. Barista embodies a lifestyle that celebrates freedom from the chaos of day-today life while also revelling in the fast-paced race that merges work, life and play.

It’s a brand we rush to when we need a quiet place to think, relax or work. And it’s also the place we head to for a one-on-one meet up with a friend. It’s the quick coffee takeaway for those extra busy days or the last stop for the night when you’re drained after a long day at the office.

You can enjoy a relaxing breakfast on a Saturday morning at Barista or get yourself a caffeine kick before heading to work on Monday. It’s where you run to when you’re away from home and in need of something familiar. Big and small moments of both customers and staff are celebrated at Barista, which is a people’s company built upon the core values of celebrating people.

Twenty years is quite a journey for a coffee brand – but for Barista, the fun has just begun. Coffee is intertwined with our lives and Sri Lankans are asking for more. For Barista, this translates into an evolving menu that reveres the classics and flirts with novelties. From coffee shops to a cafe culture and from serving beverages to creating experiences, the brand has enjoyed a fruitful journey and there’s a lot more magic brewing behind the counters.

Barista has delivered on its promise to be an innovative leader in the Sri Lankan coffee landscape. Its dynamic take on its menu and services, keeps the brand young and vibrant as ever, even with 20 years under its belt. Cheers! Here’s raising a cup of delicious coffee to your good health, success and contentment!
