Q: A year of challenges is coming to an end – what dominant seasonal trends are you seeing?
A: Sri Lanka has been going through difficult and challenging times since the Easter attacks in 2019, followed by the pandemic in 2020, and most recently the political unrest and financial turmoil that we are currently facing.
Since Sri Lankans are a resilient people, we look forward to a new beginning as things slowly get back to normal, and people return to their regular livelihoods and way of life. Colombo has also become livelier as we enter the December festive and holiday season. People are trying to make the best of what is available locally given the current state of affairs in the country.
Q: How innovative is the hospitality industry around this time of year? And how have you leveraged this?
A: The hospitality industry always lights up during this time of year as it spreads festive cheer and colour brought about by the Christmas holidays. This year, we kicked off preparations for the season with our traditional cake mixing ceremony a few weeks ago.
Our team at Pegasus Reef Hotel is currently gearing up to present a grand array of seasonal menus with a twist to make sure that we cater to all our discerning guests. Be sure to visit the hotel to taste our diverse spread that will be available throughout this festive season.
Q: When it comes to your products and service, what are the top three things that customers look for?
A: We have always aspired to offer a very high quality of service and value for money so that we can meet our customers’ ever-changing expectations and behavioural patterns. Adopting a customer-centric approach is of utmost importance as it helps us meet high customer expectations with our service offerings at the hotel.
Q: What are your organisation’s plans for the New Year?
A: The dawn of a new year always brings about an element of hope. Our team at the Reef are putting together a night of glamour and glitter to welcome the New Year in style.
